Sparfell Aviation Group Acquires LaudaMotion Executive

Sparfell Aviation Group has acquired LaudaMotion Executive, the IS-BAO operator founded by late Formula One racing champion Niki Lauda, which will allow Sparfell to add private aircraft charter services to its service portfolio.

Before his death, Lauda considered partnering with Sparfell Aviation Group for capital, according to Sparfell's news release.

“It was important for Niki Lauda that LaudaMotion Executive be acquired by a company that represents the same values that he stood for: a true passion for aviation and dedication to our clients,” NL Holding CEO Gottfried Neumeister says. “This is why he ultimately chose Sparfell Aviation Group and the Queffelec family.”

Sparfell Airways CEO Edward Queffelec will now manage LaudaMotion Executive’s 60 employees and its operations.

“Niki Lauda’s expertise, reputation and precision were legendary, both in Formula One and in aviation,” Sparfell Aviation Group chairman Philip Queffelec says. “Having founded three airlines, we are honoured to uphold his legacy and consider it our duty to pay respect to the company that carries his name.”

LaudaMotion Executive's fleet consists of mostly Bombardier business jets. Lauda took delivery of the first Global 7500 delivered to Europe earlier this year. The operator is headquartered in Vienna, Austria.
