Pentastar Aviation Named Official Charter Provider of 2019 Race to Mackinac
/Pentastar Aviation is partnering with the Chicago Yacht Club as the official charter provider of the 111th Race to Mackinac, which begins on July 12.
“Over the past five years, we have developed a great relationship with the sailors and families of similar yacht clubs, and it seemed only natural to engage with the Chicago Yacht Club,” Pentastar Aviation president and CEO Greg Schmidt says. “It’s an honor to partner with this historic sailing club and we look forward to providing them a fast and convenient transportation option, while experiencing the world-class service that made us the most awarded aviation company in the country.”
The race begins near Chicago’s Navy Pier, runs northeast up Lake Michigan and ends on Mackinac Island, Mich., in Lake Huron. The course is 333 statute miles long. Most of the approximately 270 boats finish the race in 30 to 75 hours. Approximately 2500 sailors participate. At 111 years, the Race to Mackinac is the world’s oldest annual freshwater distance race.
