At NBAA-BACE, 100+ Companies to Be Honored for Leadership in Flight Safety

The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) has announced the recipients for its Flying Safety Award, as well as safety leadership in several specific categories, for the period ending Dec. 31, 2023.

More than 100 companies and flight departments were recognized for accident-free flying. Recipients of the Flying Safety Award will also be recognized during the National Safety Forum at the 2024 NBAA Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (NBAA-BACE), taking place Oct. 22-24 in Las Vegas.

These awards serve as a demonstration of the high degree of professionalism and safety culture within participating companies and the recognition that safety is the cornerstone of business aviation.

“Safety is business aviation’s highest priority and a core value,” said NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen. “NBAA-BACE offers an unequaled opportunity to recognize excellence across our industry, including in safety leadership. We look forward to honoring those people and companies who have attained or surpassed the half-century mark in safe operations at our convention this year, as well as those with other remarkable safety achievements.”

The following companies are recognized with NBAA Flying Safety Awards:

NBAA 50-Year Flying Safety Award Recipients:

  • J.R. Simplot, Co.

  • Lowe’s Companies, Inc.

  • Quiktrip Corporation

  • RTX, Inc.

  • Wayne-Sanderson Farms

NBAA 60-Year Flying Safety Award Recipients:

  • Cummins, Inc.

NBAA 75-Year Flying Safety Award Recipients:

  • Kimberly-Clark Corp.

  • NextEra Energy, Inc. 

  • Owens-Illinois, Inc. 

In addition to these milestones, NBAA recognized members in the following categories:

  • Commercial Business Flying awards: seven companies; 202,867 cumulative hours

  • Corporate Business Flying awards: 107 companies; 5,462,216 cumulative hours 

  • Maintenance Department Safety awards: 49 companies

  • Pilot Safety Awards: 291 pilots; 1,936,206 cumulative hours 

  • Scheduler/Licensed Dispatcher Safety awards: 80

  • Support Services Safety awards: 227 recipients

  • Avionics/Maintenance Technician Safety awards: 180 recipients

The Flying Safety Awards program was launched in 1953 by NBAA’s Board of Directors to promote a culture of safety in business aviation operations.
