NBAA Honors Members for Safe Flying During Virtual Safety Week
/The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) has announced its 2020 Flying Safety Award recipients for the period ending Dec. 31, 2019. These awards serve as a demonstration of the high degree of professionalism and outstanding safety culture within participating companies. In total, nearly 1,000 companies and individuals were recognized for accident/incident-free operations in 2019.
Two member companies are being honored for their extraordinarily long histories of safe flying: Tri-State G&T, Inc. is being recognized for 60 years of accident-free flying, and First Horizon National Corp. is being recognized for 50 years of accident-free flying.
In addition to milestone awards, NBAA recognized members in the following categories:
- Company Commercial Award – 23 companies compiling 1,313,004 hours of safe operations
- Company Corporate/Business Award – 202 companies compiling 9,375,736 hours of safe operations
- Company Maintenance Award – 85 maintenance departments qualified
- ATP or Commercial Pilot Award – 281 pilots compiling 2,232,316 hours of safe flying
- Schedulers & Dispatchers Award – 65 schedulers/licensed dispatchers qualified
- Support Services Award – 142 support personnel qualified
- Technician Award – 188 technicians qualified
The Flying Safety Awards program was launched in 1953 by the NBAA board of directors to promote a culture of safety in business aviation operations. NBAA is committed to making business aviation as safe as possible and encourages all members to participate in the awards program to enhance safe operations and gain recognition for their outstanding performance.
