2019 Above and Beyond Long Island Gala

On Wednesday June 5, 2019, Patient AirLift Services (PALS) will host its 2019 Above and Beyond Long Island Gala at the Mansion at Oyster Bay in Woodbury N.Y., from 6:00 pm to 10:00pm.

Master of Ceremonies, Pat Cavlin, Meteorologist at News 12 Long Island, will lead a lively evening that will showcase the awe-inspiring generosity of the charitable aviation community. Honoring the compassion, hope, dignity and dependability that is facilitated by PALS volunteers, ambassadors, partners and donors throughout the year. Awards will be presented by special guest, Megan Eunpu, Miss D.C. for America 2019.

John Bruno and Richard Burton, Volunteer PALS Pilots, will receive the Flight of Hope Award in recognition of their remarkable service to families in need of critical air transportation, through generously donating over 100 flights, and flying over 17,500 passenger miles since joining PALS in 2014. John shared: “My association with Patient Airlift Services began as a quest to give back after losing my wife to cancer following her thirty-plus year battle with Multiple Sclerosis. It has turned into an association which has instead given back to me in satisfaction and fulfillment received.”

Scott Ashton, CEO, Corporate Service Supply & Manufacturing and PALS Volunteer Pilot and Director, will receive the Corporate Social Responsibility Innovator Award in recognition of his dedication to advocate for families in need, inspire corporate entities to use their resources for charitable causes, and empower others in the community to get involved with the PALS mission. When speaking of PALS, Scott shared, “I’m so incredibly proud to be a part of PALS and humbled by the contributions of the Aviation community to make others’ lives better. Aviation has a capacity to bring so much to people’s lives – especially when they are most in need, and the volunteers and staff at PALS live that every day.”

PALS depends on the generous support of the public to fulfill its critical mission. Proceeds raised during the Gala will enable the PALS to provide free air transportation for individuals requiring out-of-town or out-of-state medical treatment who cannot afford or are unable to fly commercially; for compassionate assistance; and for humanitarian purposes.
