Thomas Hirschmann, Son of Jet Aviation Founder Carl W. Hirschmann, Dies at 64
/Thomas Hirschmann, second son of Jet Aviation founder, Carl W. Hirschmann (1920 – 1995), passed away on April 3, 2019, in Zurich, Switzerland, of an undisclosed illness. Hirschmann was a well-respected leader at Jet Aviation, where he served for 29 years. The company and its employees mourn his untimely loss. He was 64.
Thomas Hirschmann joined Jet Aviation in 1974 and served as the company’s Chairman & CEO from 1990 through 2003. Jet Aviation celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2017 and he was warmly remembered throughout the year for all that he achieved for the company. He devoted nearly half of his life to Jet Aviation, launching the company into the Completions business, building up its marketing and communications department, establishing a presence in the U.S, expanding to Asia, and leading the company as Chairman & CEO for nearly 15 years.
