Position Summary:
In this role, you will support the flight coordinators by tracking every flight leg and making sure the customer receives timely updates on the movements of aircraft. The aircraft times will be recorded electronically and on the flight logs to ensure compliance with FARs. You will also be responsible to ensure that prearranged services are in position as requested. Good situational awareness is required, as you will be responsible to track several flights at the same time and ensure delays are communicated to the appropriate personnel.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

Track all flights and update customers and company personnel as necessary

Monitor several websites for ATC delays

Be familiar with ATC delay programs and traffic initiatives and how they affect each flight

Advise the appropriate personnel of potential or actual delays/service issues

Confirm with flight crews that the start-of-the day checklist has been completed

Record crewmembers flight time in compliance with the company’s crew scheduling procedures to ensure that each flight has a legal crew available

Record all flight times (OUT, OFF, ON and IN) for each leg

Ensure that all passenger/crew services are in position prior to departure and arrival including, but not limited to, ground transportation, catering, and connecting flights

Arrange for and coordinate crew transportation, hotels and other passenger amenities/transportation

Provide operational data and reports to personnel as necessary

Comply with, and participate in, Meridian's Safety Management System and OSHA training and programs

Other duties as assigned
Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

High School diploma or general education degree (GED)

One year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Must be resourceful and highly constructive in dealing with new situations

Must be able to work well without supervision

Must be able to multi-task

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos

Ability to write simple correspondence with attention given to grammar and spelling

Primary language is English; Bi-lingual a plus

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram and schedule form

Basic computer skills required. A good working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel, and internet searches
