Description

Solairus Aviation is currently searching for an Aviation Dispatcher. This position serves as the central point of contact for Solairus Aviation flight crew seeking release prior to departure for all aircraft on certificate. The position is responsible for checking compliance and legality prior to each and every flight for aircraft on certificate and issuing release numbers. It is the company's central point of communication staffed 24/7.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Verify each flight on certificated aircraft meets the 135 regulations for legal crew, legal aircraft and legal trip.
Issue and track release numbers for each flight on certificated aircraft.

Actively flight follow Solairus Aviation fleet.
Send detailed trip paperwork to flight crews, log all flights upon completion.
Review schedule on a daily basis to confirm all crew is legal and current and all flights are within legal limits.
Arrange trip logistical and service items as necessary to support client and crew, including;
Coordinate the aircraft movements to support client’s travel schedule
Schedule support personnel, including airline travel and hotels as needed       
Arrange for landing and over-flight permits, clearances, ground han­dling, security needs, customs, ground transportation, and catering for domestic and international destinations
Provide required documentation for and communicate with various government agencies for domestic and international destinations, including Customs and Immigration as applicable.
Coordinate aircraft movement in concert with the Pilot in Command to ensure that all airspace and airport restrictions are complied with, and to ensure that all aircraft support services are available and notified.
Monitor duty time limitations and currency requirements for flight crews to ensure compliance with applicable Federal Aviation Regulations and Solairus Standards and Practices Manuals.
Assist Captain as necessary with trip routing with regards to tech stops, crew swapping, and/or crew augmenting.
Provide 24/7 coverage for entire fleet of Solairus aircraft.

 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: 

Ability to work with the Solairus flight planning and scheduling software, and the Microsoft Windows and Office Software
Ability to interact effectively as a team member with other Flight Followers/Dispatchers.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality in all cases involving client aircraft operations and when dealing with sensitive or security issues.
Knowledge of aircraft dispatch statistics, resources available for trip planning, vendors available for aircraft and trip support, and weather monitoring.
Ability to quickly learn and assimilate Solairus aircraft and flight crew standards and policy.
Extremely skilled and knowledgeable of customer service techniques and ability to perform all job duties providing the highest level of service to both external and internal customers.
Skill in organizing and performing detail-oriented and timely duties and functions.
CTA/FOS proficiency is ideal, but not required.
Ability to plan and to prioritize work.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT

Seeing: must be able to read report, charts, and to use a computer. (75-100%)
Hearing: must be able to hear well enough to communicate over the phone in and person with clients and co-workers. (75-100%)
Standing/Walking: very limited. (0-15%)
Fingering/Grasping/Feeling: must be able to write, type, use a computer and use a phone. (75 – 100%)

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

Normal office working conditions with moderate noise level.
