AsBAA signs new MOU with JBAA
/AsBAA, Asia’s non-profit representative body for the business and general aviation industry (BA/GA) has announced that it has signed a new memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Japan Business Aircraft Association (JBAA). The signing ceremony, which took place at the AsBAA Icons of Aviation Awards 2018 marks a new era of deepened cooperation between the two IBAC member associations.
AsBAA Chairperson, Jenny Lau said, “AsBAA made a commitment to strengthen our existing chapters in 2017-18, which we have done and will continue to do in 2019-20. Simultaneously, we set-out to look for new opportunities for our members in other Asian markets. We plan to leverage global events and ensure that our members have access to the most accurate and up-to-date advice on airport access in the region. We are honoured and delighted to sign the new MOU with JBAA. We look forward to working with our colleagues in Japan to open up new opportunities for our respective members”.
Keisuke Okada, Chairman of JBAA said, “Now that JBAA has signed an agreement and MOU with AsBAA, together, we will make every effort for business jet customers around the world. From our view, the key to success is to focus on improving the customer experience, both for our members and their end- customers. Japan is a huge market with great potential. There are many challenges ahead that need to be addressed, however we are confident that the MOU will improve mutual understanding, leading to swifter solutions. We look forward to working together for the better future of the industry!”
In September 2019, Japan will host the Rugby World Cup and, in the summer of 2020, the Olympics. Both associations have made a commitment to work closely together to leverage the opportunities of these events for the Asian business and general aviation sector.
