AsBAA Meets with Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines – Marking a New Spirit of Cooperation

AsBAA, the Asian region’s non-for-profit representative trade body for business aviation met with the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) for the first historic door-knock meeting hosted by Deputy Director General Captain Thomas Bustos and Head Executive Assistant to the Director General Captain Nestor Pasano at the CAAP Head Office in Manila.

AsBAA Chairman, Charlie Mularski said, “AsBAA thanks the CAAP for the well-organised first meeting between our two organisations. This marks the beginning of the road of cooperation between the business aviation industry and regulatory bodies in the Philippines. This spirit of coordination and effective liaison will help us to foster and promote growth for the industry, creating the necessary infrastructure conditions both in the air and on the ground for business aviation operations to thrive. In return we will see greater investment into better connected communities in the Philippines”.

Mularski went on to say, "AsBAA is very grateful to have the opportunity to raise the concerns of our members with the CAAP, and look for ways to work through these together. We were honoured to be invited to build a working agenda to identify and work together with industry stakeholders to review best practices and help the local civil aviation market grow”.

AsBAA Board of Governor members, Sarah Kalmeta and Max Motschmann joined Chairman, Charlie Mularski on the AsBAA delegation as part of this initial effort to improve business aviation conditions in the Philippines. The AsBAA team is now looking ahead for opportunities to coordinate an ongoing series of meetings to develop solutions for the most challenging issues affecting our industry in the Philippines, which will make our new Philippines chapter a very busy one.
