DC Aviation Opens Wheel Shop at Stuttgart Headquarters
/DC Aviation, with headquarters in Stuttgart, recently obtained C14-Approval for repairing and maintaining the main and nose wheels of aircraft. Accordingly, the Company is now in a position to perform all maintenance work required by the manufacturers, starting immediately. By eliminating the need for outsourced services and related freight costs, DC Aviation can now offer its customers optimized costs and down times.
“This expansion of our operating license constitutes an ideal addition to our existing portfolio. We can now offer both those customers who participate in our fleet management program and third-party maintenance customers an additional attractive service,” says Vice President Maintenance Oliver Weiss.
Due to the enormous stress, and their crucial role in safety, aircraft wheels require a significant amount of maintenance. DC Aviation is now in a position to perform all of this maintenance work – from changing wheels, via wheel repairs, to complete wheel overhaul. Each wheel is processed through numerous stations until it is finally released in final control after it passed thorough inspection in accordance with globally effective legal aviation requirements.
In its special 5,000 m2 hangar at the Stuttgart Airport and its 5,700 m2 resp. 7,500 m2 certified maintenance facilities at Al Maktoum International Airport (OMDW) in Dubai, DC Aviation now offers maintenance and overhaul services for customers operating airplanes of the Airbus-320 family, Bombardier Global, Bombardier Challenger 605/604/350/300, Bombardier Learjet 60/45/40, Dassault Falcon 7X/900, Gulfstream G650/550/450, Cessna Citation XLS and other airplane types.
The Company owns a spare parts inventory worth over 6.5 million Euros, special tools for certain aircraft, testing equipment, and a Center for Maintenance Logistics. Even unexpected repairs can be performed in an expeditious and flexible manner. The Company’s maintenance team is capable of developing individual maintenance programs for a large number of different business jets based on the customer’s operating requirements. The complete CAMO Certification meets all EASA requirements for attaining airworthiness and obtaining its certification. These and other measures constitute a solid basis for the long-term preservation of the value of your asset and for maximal availability of all aircraft maintained by DC Aviation.
