"Whether a trip is tomorrow or six months from now, you have access to our competitive quotes in real time.” These “auto quotes” as they are called, are also hard quotes. Any trip quoted more than 18 hours in advance will have guaranteed pricing and aircraft availability. Segrave’s IT department consists of a team of software engineers that has developed proprietary quoting software, which has been effectively used in-house for several years. Using historical FAA flight data, aircraft operating and airport costs, the system is continuously being improved to increase efficiency and accuracy. The introduction of web quoting is an outgrowth of that substantial investment. North Carolina-based Segrave Aviation has a “floating fleet” of more than 40 jets. Because Segrave’s airplanes do not have to reposition to a home base, it allows the company to avoid most empty-leg costs. Segrave thus offers true, point to point, one-way pricing.
