ProJet Aviation Partners with TerraPass to Offer Carbon Offsets for FlyersProJet Aviation based in Winchester, Va., has joined forces with TerraPass, Inc., to offer carbon offsets to private aircraft travelers. ProJet clients can elect to purchase carbon offsets to balance the carbon emissions generated from their flights. TerraPass works with clean energy and carbon emissions reduction projects throughout the U.S., including wind power, farm power and landfill gas capture. Credits are verified against a broadly accepted standard by an independent third party. “For about 1 percent of the cost of the trip, our clients can sponsor reductions in greenhouse gas emissions elsewhere,” said ProJet’s CEO, Shye Gilad. “ProJet is taking internal steps to reduce our own carbon footprint, and we are happy to provide our clients with the same opportunity.” ProJet provides the carbon offset cost for each flight so clients can make their own choices. Participation in the program is voluntary. TerraPass reports that more than 150,000 purchases of carbon offsets have been made by individuals, families and businesses, who are balancing out the global impact of their travel, home or office energy use. Together, TerraPass and its partners have funded reductions of more than one billion pounds of carbon dioxide emissions. Want to use this article? Click here for options! |
