ProJet Aviation, a Metro-DC area aircraft management and worldwide charter company, will host a grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony for its new Jet Center at Leesburg Executive Airport (JYO) on June 2, 2010. Six corporate aircraft are already based at the facility, which features more than 25,000 square feet of hangar and office space. In addition to ground and flight support for corporate aircraft, ProJet provides jet fuel services at Leesburg through a distribution agreement with AvFuel. The new location is an expansion of the company’s existing flight operations in Winchester and Manassas Virginia.
More than 200 people are expected to attend the ribbon cutting ceremony and reception, which will be held in the Jet Center Hangar from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Guest speakers for the event include entrepreneur and philanthropist Sheila C. Johnson, Virginia State Senator Jill Holtzman Vogel, Leesburg Mayor Kristen C. Umstattd and Executive Airport Director Timothy B. Deike.
“It has always been part of our growth plan to operate a full-service Jet Center at a premier location,” said Shye Gilad, ProJet Aviation CEO. “Our partnership with AvFuel allows us to offer the most competitive fuel rates in the region – and the Leesburg Executive Airport is the best location for travelers who want priority access to the Metropolitan Washington, D.C. area.”
The Leesburg Executive Airport features direct access to Dulles and Washington, D.C. via the Greenway (VA route 267). An Instrument Landing System (ILS) will be operational in November, and future growth plans include a runway extension and air traffic control tower. The Jet Center will serve as the principal base of operations for ProJet’s growing fleet of charter aircraft.
