Pentastar Aviation, based in Waterford, Mich., received FAR 145 Repair Station Airframe Class 3 and 4
Ratings in January. Issued by the FAA, these ratings replace Pentastar’s prior Limited Airframe
Ratings and authorize Pentastar’s 14 CFR 145 Repair Station to maintain all models of small and large
aircraft of all metal construction.
“These ratings enable our maintenance staff to support additional makes and models of aircraft as
well as expand our service capabilities for the many transient aircraft coming through our facility
whenever there is a need for maintenance,” Pentastar quality control director Gary Roberts said.
“These ratings are a great advantage to Pentastar and a great benefit for our
customers.”
Pentastar Aviation boasts 45 years of experience in the maintenance, repair and
modification of corporate and executive aircraft. With one of the most dedicated and knowledgeable
maintenance teams in the business aviation industry, Pentastar quickly emerged as an industry leader
after their original approval as a repair station by the FAA in 1974.
“Issuance of FAR 145
Airframe Class 3 and Class 4 ratings demonstrates that Pentastar Aviation has met the required FAA
experience, personnel and organizational qualifications and also provides recognition for the vast
size of our facilities and related capabilities,” maintenance operations director Tony Bailey said.
“With this change, Pentastar Aviation joins an elite group of repair stations that have received FAA
approval of these Airframe Class ratings. Our reputation and related business volume has been built
through our relentless focus on ensuring airworthiness, meeting or exceeding quoted maintenance
downtimes and outstanding customer service.”
In addition to their maintenance capabilities,
Pentastar Aviation specializes in aircraft management services, aircraft charter, avionics
design/installation/repair and aircraft brokerage. Pentastar's FBO provides exceptional customer
service and ExxonMobil's Avitat fuel. The team of chefs at FIVESTAR Gourmet, the in-house catering
division, delivers meals designed to please the palate as well as the eye.
