Patrick Mauboussin Launches His Signature in Aircraft Design

The jeweler Patrick Mauboussin is creating with Sparfell Aviation Technologies – holding of the Masterjet business aviation company – PATRICK MAUBOUSSIN AIRCRAFT DESIGN. He is positioned on the business aircraft market, alongside his partner: Masterjet.
Patrick Mauboussin is working on a new jewel: the plane, or more precisely, the business jet. Then, he renews with historical creations of his family for aviation, like the mythic M120 Corsaire or the Fouga Magister. The new signature PATRICK MAUBOUSSIN AIRCRAFT DESIGN will have an influence on the interior and exterior aircraft design.
The designer is working out a new concept: “Flying is an art,” a real philosophy; indeed, it redefines the principle of flying. At the same time a business tool, a way to escape or an air link between people, the air travel is also a question of art, according to Patrick Mauboussin. Thus, life on board must be rethought, and passengers must feel rested and refreshed after their journey, feeling better than when they boarded. Comfort, peace of mind, body relaxation and confidentiality are so essential that they are studied as seriously as each detail to ease the journey.
But it is not only about decoration. Patrick Mauboussin works as a conductor, paying attention to choose the best technologies. There are two stages in his work: find the best in each scope and “compose." The expertise of the jeweler is used in aviation to satisfy the demanding customers; moreover, it enables the company to meet the highest quality standards and all requirements. The latest technologies are used to suggest a range of equipment, such as relaxing armchairs, an effusion shower, a hidden walkway, a simulator of dawn, electronic attenuators of noise, humidifiers and diffusers of essential oils.
All five senses will be taken care of with some therapies like light therapy, color therapy and aromatherapy.
“I want to be attentive to every individual, to bring to everyone all the personalized solutions on board," said Mauboussin. "For me, a plane is 'a house in the sky.' Everyone has to take pleasure in his house.”
Humanism and quality of service are key words. “I am going to attempt to strengthen the individualized ergonomics," he said. "Armchairs will be adaptable to each body and will have to allow the best comfort in every position."
Another project, the Calla chair, created in partnership with EAD Aerospace and inspired by the flower of the same name, is particularly appreciated by Mauboussin.
His first creation was the painting of the Airbus A320 Corporate of Masterjet, Nile Spirit by Patrick Mauboussin. This aircraft, in the 26-passenger version, will be available for charter and certified public transport by the EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency), the first for such a configuration (bedroom, lounge, etc.). This plane raises a new skin, which underlines its fuselage composed with several shades of blue.
"It is a real honor to have for partner a man while representing the French know-how in what it has of more precious!" said Philip Queffelec, President of Masterjet and Sparfell Aviation Technologies. "No doubt that the totally innovative approach of Patrick Mauboussin in the aeronautical design will bring to the customers a new conception of the journey."
