FAI Reports Record Sales in 2009, Expands Fleet and Facilities

German Air Ambulance Specialist FAI rent-a-jet AG (dba Flight-Ambulance- International) has reported new record sales for the fiscal year of 2009. Total revenues consolidated from operations reached € 38 million including € 6 million from FAI´s Swiss subsidiary Nomad Aviation, which reflects an increase of 45 percent compared to 2008 (€ 27 million).

For 2010, FAI is expecting revenues of close to € 50 million, which would be an increase of 30 percent. FAI currently operates a fleet of 14 aircraft (two LJ35A, seven LJ55, four LJ60 and one DA900). Six aircraft are operating under NGO contracts in Africa and Haiti. Nomad’s fleet just was expanded to five aircraft (three CL604, one Legacy and one CJ).

FAI broke ground for its new state-of-the-art hangar and office building, which includes a 100 kilowatt-peak rooftop solar power plant to ensure carbon-neutral ground operations. The € 10 million project consists of a 2500 square meter hangar plus a five-story office building, which includes workshops and storage space for FAI’s EASA-Part 145 maintenance center. Completion is scheduled for the first quarter of 2011 at the latest.

“This significant investment will secure FAI’s future growth and also is a commitment to green ground operations,” FAIGroup founder and chairman Siegfried Axtmann said in a statement.
