EuroFPL Extends Electronic Flight Plan Filing Capabilities to Canada, Greenland and Iceland

EuroFPL.eu, the originator of online IFR flight plan filing and flight tracking for corporate and general aviation in Europe, now supports free Internet flight plan filing for trips originating in Canada, Greenland and Iceland in addition to full support for European airspace.
EuroFPL's founder Travis Holland explains that “as a professional pilot, I was constantly in search of easy, fast and cost-effective ways to file flight plans & obtain weather information outside of the U.S. What I found was that no central network with that capability existed – that’s when my team & I committed to building one.”
"In the past, pilots who wanted to file flight plans online with NavCanada had to submit a form for access to their system and wait for a reply in the mail – the process took days," said Director Ed Oleksy. "Now, users can file flight plans as soon as they sign on to EuroFPL. NavCanada’s online system has limits on the number of stored flight plans a user can have, doesn’t allow for multiple planes & pilots listed within a user’s profile, and can’t be used for international flights – none of those limitations exist in EuroFPL.
Once an IFR flight plan has been filed, the proposed flight will appear within minutes in any number of free flight tracking programs that cover North America, so a pilot has near instant confirmation that their plan’s been processed. "We even provide for integration with Google Maps for airport orientation photos, and interfaces for METARs & TAFs and nearby aviation services,” Oleksy said.
The ability to file IFR flight plans electronically for Greenland and Iceland has never before been available – EuroFPL introduces this resource to its users.
“This tool will be especially useful for flights crossing the North Atlantic between North America and Europe,” says Oleksy. “Best of all, EuroFPL.eu's services are offered at no cost to the individual users – all of these benefits are free.”
