DC Aviation Awarded for the Highest Safety Standards

DC Aviation, the largest German provider of individual flights with business jets, was awarded for its high safety standards. Within the scope of the EBACE, the European Business Aviation Association (EBAA) awarded DC Aviation - as one of only three companies - with the 2011 Gold Safety of Flight Award.

“The organizations we have recognized today have not been content to rest on their laurels. Instead, they’ve made the safety of flight a part of their corporate cultures,” said EBAA president Brian Humphries.

To additionally reinforce the corporate philosophy, a contract for recertification was signed with Wyvern.

“Our goal is to far surpass the basic, legally prescribed domestic and international quality and safety requirements,” said Michael Kuhn, Managing Director of DC Aviation.

The Wyvern Standard is a leading audit standard developed with the most sophisticated and demanding corporate flight departments in the world.

“We are very proud to have this partnership with DC Aviation,” said Brent Moldowan, Managing Director of Wyvern Consulting. “DC Aviation has committed their organization to maintaining the highest standards and we are pleased to have the opportunity to support that goal through the Wingman audit program along with our data delivery services."

DC Aviation's high safety standards in aviation were demonstrated in the recent IOSA recertification. In the process, five auditors reviewed more than 960 standards and processes in all areas related to aviation law from technology and safety to quality management and flight operations. Again, DC Aviation was certified with an excellent result for this global safety standard for airlines. The international seal of quality, which the Stuttgart-based company received in 2007 as the first German provider of private jets, was presented to them for the third consecutive time and underscores the exceptional position DC Aviation occupies in the area of safety among business jet operators.

DC Aviation GmbH, headquartered in Stuttgart, Germany, is the leading provider of business jets in Germany and ranks as one of the leading operators in Europe. DC Aviation emerged in 2007 out of the former DaimlerChrysler Aviation, a subsidiary of DaimlerChrysler AG, and currently offers a complete scope of business services – from aircraft management and aircraft chartering to the maintenance of business jets. The young fleet is comprised of a modern short-range jet, the Citation XLS, medium and long-range jets, such as the Gulfstream G450/G550 and also includes the VVIP Airbus 319 CJ. With four VVIP/VIP Airbus A319 CJ aircraft, the company is one of the largest European operators of this type of aircraft worldwide. In July of 2007, the company received the international certification - IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) as the first German private jet provider and was recertified in May of 2009 and 2011. The IOSA Certificate is considered to be the seal of quality for flight safety by the aviation industry worldwide and is issued by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) within the scope of an audit.
