Avinode 2.0 - The Next Generation Search Engine
Apr 28, 2010 12:43 PM
Avinode, the world’s largest B2B marketplace for buying and selling charter flights, recently announced the launch of Avinode 2.0, the next generation search engine. With real-time creative route construction, allowing for multiple home base management, region searches and more, air charter professionals will have access to a revolutionary way to source charter.
Optimizing operators’ availability and pricing information, Avinode’s search engine presents dynamic trip options, offering the most cost-effective and time-efficient trip routing. Industry leader, XOJET’s, Senior Vice President, Private Client Services, Doug Bryan, said he saw the benefit of having sophisticated technology that enabled efficient and resourceful trip building.
“The options are there but not always readily known, however, with Avinode’s new search engine, the optimized alternatives are instantly made available," Bryan said. “We believe this feature is absolutely necessary for people searching for charter—it is cost-saving for operators, as well as in procurement.”
Avinode’s latest technology is one that is adaptable, and designed to accommodate most currently existing pricing structures in the industry, with a number of different modules and functionalities:
• Region search: An optional parameter that searches aircraft availability at neighboring departure and arrival airports within a given region, yielding more trip options based upon client flexibility.
• Dynamic route construction: Optimizes operators’ schedules by not only looking at real time position, but also integrating empty legs and future positioning into the Avinode search result logic.
• Multiple home bases: Avinode now accommodates aircraft with more than one home base and/or floating aircraft, with three models:
o Large/floating fleet: For operators with large fleets and/or home bases not in close proximity to one another, Avinode will build ferry legs incorporating those home bases closest to the arrival and departure airports
o Small fleet: Operators can set a group of neighboring airports as home bases so that when a client searches from any of those airports, a ferry fee will not be applied between them
o Last leg: Taking into account a number of home bases, the aircraft will always complete a given trip by returning to the home base closest to that of the arrival airport
The development of Avinode 2.0 comes in accordance with the company’s commitment to providing supreme value to professionals in the industry with a platform that has intelligent design, integrated logic and incomparable data quality. With Avinode, the industry at large is able to streamline their workflow, increase business and maximize utilization in all facets.
