ARGUS Operator Ratings to be Available in Air Charter Guide Online Directory

ARGUS to announces its new alliance with Air Charter Guide. Users of Air Charter Guide’s online directory will soon be able to view the ratings of ARGUS-Rated charter operators. ARGUS offers the only truly independent rating of charter operators derived from factual data and information crucial to performing due diligence on a particular operator. The number of ARGUS-rated operators has been rising steadily and currently consists of 314 Gold, 25 Gold Plus and 85 Platinum-rated charter operators.

Joe Moeggenberg, ARGUS President and CEO said that the Air Charter Guide continued to be the most popular source of charter operator information in the world. Moeggenberg said that the launch of the new feature on aircharterguide.com with the incorporated ARGUS ratings would provide charter buyers with an invaluable tool for selecting an operator whose historical safety record had been authenticated by ARGUS.

“The Air Charter Guide has been the definitive source for global charter operator information since 1986,” said Frank Craven, Publisher of the Air Charter Guide. “The new web site and alliance with ARGUS will improve the ease of searching for charter aircraft and provide the necessary knowledge to help buyers of charter make informed decisions."

Craven said the ARGUS rating and Charter Evaluation and Qualification (CHEQ) system was by far the most recognized and significant form of independent, third-party operator safety information, which is why it will fit perfectly with the Air Charter Guide's objective to provide its customers with accurate and valuable information.

Since 2000, ARGUS has extracted, filtered and vetted data on charter operators around the world through its CHEQ program. The ratings are developed by the ARGUS CHEQ program, the only truly independent rating source that provides the buyers of charter the factual data and information needed to perform the necessary due diligence on a charter operator. To score the gathered data, ARGUS uses a proprietary algorithm that has formed the foundation of the only independent rating system in the business jet charter marketplace. This scoring system, that is the backbone of CHEQ, is designed to provide charter buyers with an unbiased, third-party, factually-based rating based on an operator’s safety history. Operators can achieve either a Gold Plus or Platinum rating through a combination of having their data analyzed and an on-site audit of their operations. The audits must be performed by ARGUS using the ARGUS Platinum standard as the benchmark.

While there is no guarantee for safety, ARGUS believes a safe operating history combined with an audit against industry best practices is a good starting point for any buyer of charter services. ARGUS rated operators have proven their commitment to safety with more than 700,000 flight hours per year.
