Pleaze – No Sleaze!

And certainly not on our tax dollar!

Last week, a promotional clip from a company called Ecstasky Air appeared on YouTube, touting its unique brand of air charter service – scantily clad stewardesses, who will, as promised by founder Ron Cash, “provide service you won’t find anywhere else.” I was intrigued by this statement, as the kind of service that came to my mind wasn’t even remotely legal, but it turns out that Ron was referring to male manicures, foot massages and gourmet cuisine at “mile high” altitudes.

“Rich men love strippers, and rich men (either directly or through their businesses) are the primary users of jet charter services, so this is a natural and somewhat tasteless concept”. This was one NBAA comment posted in response to viewing the Ecstasky promo. The other was from a professional flight attendant, who was concerned about the sleaze factor.

For our female readers – in case you think this clip was sexist, it wasn’t. Ron assured the ladies that they, too, can enjoy the same services from a grinning, buff, and topless male, although the tightly suited female exec the model was massaging didn’t look particularly “Ecstatik.”

It appears, when Googled, that Ecstasky Air hasn’t been in business since the early 2000s So then who managed to resurrect this gem for YouTube?

But a little additional digging on Google revealed that the Gulfstream tailnumber assigned to the aircraft used for the video belongs to a company dubbed “Safe Flight 21 Product Team.” A little further digging reveals the team’s address: 800 Independence Avenue, Washington, DC. So either Ecstasky was airplaneless at the time of their promo shot and “borrowed” an airplane from the FAA for photographic purposes, or else we all fund a government that is much more discriminating in the prurient areas than we gave them credit for!

There were several worried voices on the NBAA AvManagers’ Forum, concerned that this might give charter a bad name. As a government flight, though, it all makes sense, and I’m sure that the FAA could find others besides the likes of JFK, Wilbur Mills, and Bill Clinton who would quickly sign up.

As long as charter companies keep their flight attendants properly attired and discourage their rich male clientele from bringing strippers on board, the lifespan of this video will be even shorter than that of Ecstasky Air’s. So the AvMgr’s site can go back to their usual business of trading in operational and regulatory information. However, the next time you get busted by the FAA, I guess your trump card is to politely ask them “What happened to the flight attendants from N273EL?” Who needs Washington whistleblowers? We now have Google and YouTube! - FCG/MXM -
